Santa brought me awesome friends

As the years go by, our big group of friends is growing. What started out as 11 girls has now expended to include husbands and kiddos, and watching our group grow has been so much fun!
Every Christmas, we make a point to get all the girls together to celebrate how blessed we are, get in some quality time while everyone is in town, and exchange gifts. This year was great!!! True friends are such a blessing.

Big girl car seat!

Here she is in the new "big kid" car seat. I think she was wondering what the heck was going on.  :)

Adios, baby seat!!!

I cried when we put her in, as I realized how fast our little Leah is growing. I keep having to remind myself that every stage is better than the last! She may be growing bigger, but the laughter and joy is growing, too!

10 Months Old!

LiLi Girl, at 10 months, you...

- LOVE Christmas! You like the lights, opening presents, and all the commotion. You love to look around and get down and explore, and it has been fun to watch you do that. We started some pretty cool traditions this year, but the best was making our first family gingerbread house. I was dreading making it after being with gingerbread houses at school, but making it with you and your Daddy made it so much fun!

-  Weigh about 17 pounds. You are still a peanut, but fit well in 9 month clothes.

- Love snuggling  and climbing in our bed after we wake you up, now that we are all home together for 2 weeks. It has been so wonderful to have that time together.

- Still love to eat! You are nursing well, but are starting to reject the bottle a lot more often. You love food, especially when you can feed yourself, and a bottle just does not seem to interest you about half of the time. Your fav finger foods are pea, blueberries, shredded cheese, egg yolk, gardenburgers and tofu. As of now, you get 4 liquid meals a day, and three solids.

- Drag yourself around FAST. You have yet to actually crawl on all fours, which is crazy, cause you have been scooting for 2 months now. You cruise on furniture and walk very well when holding hands, so the pediatrician thinks you may skip crawling altogether.

- Adore stuffed animals. You squeeze them and burrow your face into them to give them hugs. It is really cute to see you snuggle, cause you sure don't like to take 2 seconds to snuggle with Mommy these days!

- Have all of a sudden found naps not very fun. You like to sit and stand in your crib, while singing songs and playing with your hands. We sometimes just watch you on the monitor and giggle.... even though you  make us nuts when you don't nap. You are such a busy body, and you love to explore, so asking you to slow down during daylight can be tough.

- Love bath time! You like to play and splash, and have fun getting rinsed off at the end. Then, we wrap you up, dry you off, give you your vitamins, and start your bedtime routine. You still go down super great.

- Are getting really good at "SO BIG", clapping, and you now lay your head on your shoulder when we say "nice". It is such fun to know that you are really learning things!

- Have six teeth- four on the bottom, and two on top. Knock on wood, you have not seemed too bothered by any since the first two came in.

- Say "Mama", "Dada", "Nana", "RaRaRa", and "Gok" all of the time. I am pretty sure it is still just babbling, but it is super cute anyway. You still sound like a hyena all the time when you want attention, or just when you get excited about something. Every time we go to a restaurant, we have to walk you around so everyone else's dinner is not disturbed! :)

- Get super fussy when you are tired, but you won't go down anywhere but your car seat or your crib. That cute little thumb gets plopped in your mouth, and we know you are overdue.

- Love your vitamins, your Minnie Mouse doll, your beloved duck, all stuffed animals, eating books, walking and scooting, pulling yourself to stand, clapping, Maisy and all other animals, your Nonnie and Glamma, and your new fav is the play mat. You take chunks off and carry them around with you just about everywhere you go. We laugh and find your really random.

- Are now in a big girl car seat. I cried a little when we moved you over, as I felt like you are growing so fast! Every stage has been better than the next, though, so there is nothing to be sad about. Watching you grow and develop is so exciting!

Getting bigger!

Hats come right off these days

Headbands barely last two seconds on your head...

That's more like it!

Just a little "me" time

Leah got very serious in the bath the other day, and looked like she was taking a nice bath after a long hard day, as she held on tightly to her little Elmo book. Hilarious.

Santa

To the Morton Arboretum we went to go see Santa last weekend! It was such a fun day. Leah had a great time watching her sister cousins run around, and looking at all the lights and decorations. We made it a huge family event, and it was a big hit for all the kids, and adults alike.

Leah and her fab Grandmas

Three generations of Fasses/Sutorious's

OMG.... the outfit was a combo of one I got her, and one her Glamma got. You may think if was over the top, but whatever. Go big or go home!

Our little family

LOVE

Aunt Nancy and baby Lelah!

The tutu was a big hit

Not too sure....

Our other babies.  :)

3 little sweeties

Leah loves her Nonni (I do, too)

All I want for Christmas is a box

Leah is in the playing with things that are not meant to be played with, and we have been having fun pushing her around in her boxes. She giggles and holds her hands up like she is on a roller coaster, the little dare devil! She is getting more and more fun as the days go by, and NOW WE ARE OFF FOR 2 WEEKS!  We get 2 whole weeks to be a family at home, visiting lots and lots of friends, and hosting a few parties! LOVE!

Here she is in box #1.... no coincidence that the case of wine box is from my Mom.  :)

And box #2... her bedroom one.

And the box and Nonni and Papa's house. I think this one is her fav!

Sister Cousins!

Leah is blessed to have two very awesome girls in her life, her "sister cousins", Kayli and Emmy.
Anyone who knows us well knows that these two little girls, our "nieces", have been so special to Paul and I for many years. We have taken them for many a sleepover, and on some fun outings, and have just bonded with them in general for as long as we can remember. They were like our practice kids, and we have had so much fun watching them grow into the darling 6 and 2 year olds we see before us today! We love these two from the bottom of our hearts, and some of our best memories from our marriage have incuded these precious girls.
Seeing Kayli and Em love on Leah has been such a joy! They LOVE her, and come running to see "Baby Lelah" all of the time (Uncle Paul and Aunt Erin are no longer cool). They are so gentle with her, love to play with her, and share their stuff with her. Oh, so sweet.
Leah got to spend two days in a row with the girls, and I thought they deserved a special little shout-out for being oh-so good to baby Lelah. The fact that she gets to grow up with her sister cousins near makes me so happy and excited to watch you all turn into lovely young ladies!

Meeting baby Leah for the first time!

<3

Love

Seeing Santa at the Arboreta today. :)

This was the best I could do to get the three of them to look this weekend. Not so much....
WE LOVE YOU, GIRLS! Thank you for being so wonderful in so many ways!!!!

First (tiny) snow!

When we woke up yesterday, there was a delicate sprinkling of snow on our lawn, so we decided to take Leah out to see her first snow. Just as we expected, she was super curious about it, liked looking at it, and thought it was fun when we put some on her tongue.

Why is it that everything is more fun with her?  Thanks, sweet girl, for reminding us to stop and smell the roses!

One of my fav photos I have ever taken of my girl. I love that face.

Tradition

In case you have not noticed, I am a tradition fanatic. I love the comfort of knowing that some things will always exist, no matter what, and that families and friends still make time to do beautiful things together, even when life gets nutty.
One of my very favorite traditions in my family is our Christmas baking explosion! For as long as I can remember, my Mom and I have been baking for an entire weekend to send goodies all over the country to our family. We have so much fun, listening to Christmas music (and my Dad whining about it), decorating our cookies, and sipping wine while we giggle and spend quality time together
Last year, we were so excited that we would have our little sous chef to bake with for next time.Well, here she is, folks, and it was so much fun to have her with us. Such a special day for all of us.  :)
